According to PetAmberAlert.com, 30% more pets go missing between July 4th and 6th each year than any other time. And with dogs being more afraid of the sound of fireworks* than thunder or gunfire, it is no wonder. They hear the scary sounds and flashing lights and head for safer ground… wherever that might be. Sadly, only 14% of these pets are reunited with their families and for those that are left behind in shelters somewhere between 30-60% are euthanized because they were not claimed or adopted.
